What are PTE templates, and how do you use them without getting flagged?
A PTE template is a reusable structural framework for a task that Pearson scores on Form, Content and structure. It gives you a paragraph shape (for essays), a one-sentence skeleton (for SWT) or a 40-second spoken structure (for Describe Image and Retell Lecture). What varies from item to item is the CONTENT you fill in, which must come from the actual prompt.
A good template protects your easy marks (Form, structure, coherence) so you can spend your attention on the traits that actually move your score: grammar, vocabulary, oral fluency and pronunciation. A bad template is a fixed script that ignores the prompt, and it is the reason memorised responses get flagged.

How do I use these templates without getting penalised?
Treat each template as a placeholder document you fill from the actual prompt. Change every noun and example so it could not fit any other prompt. Keep the structural moves (intro, body, conclusion, or overview/feature/trend) but rewrite the ideas. If your answer could be pasted onto a different prompt, it will get flagged.
